These are a few of my favorite things

I think the jewelry Austrian Frey Wille makes is just awesome. So colorful, so much fun and so unusual.

However, I can't buy Frey Wille where I live, which is either a blessing (because it saves me tons of money) or just simply annoying (because I have to wait until I travel somewhere to get new pieces, since Frey Wille jewelry can be found in several major European airports), depending how you look at it.

But just looking at pictures of the goodies is inspirational too!

It was the wicked and wild wind

As fall slowly creeps closer, I've been starting to long for more scarves. These, from Longchamp, are at the top of my list at the moment.
(I think it shows that I am really longing for a citybreak in either Paris, Milan or NYC right now...)

A girl can never have too many scarves I think (I have over 100 myself, and that's hardly even enough!) and I've been a fan of Longchamp for years, so I am seriously considering getting one of these.
But it's so hard to decide which one!

Flowers in the window

I was surprised by a flower delivery at work today (courtesy of my other half).
Surprises are truly inspirational and so are flowers. They brighten up and prettify your apartment instantly.

Comfortably stylish

I am absolutely loving the shape of this dress. It looks extremely comfortable to wear yet stylish at the same time. And it's so simple!

Lookbook favourite of the day

I love Lookbook and I whenever I browse the site I always find a new favourite among the gorgeous welldressed ladies that post their outfits there.

My favourite at the moment is Victoria C.

I love how she combines items in a totally unique way, making her outfits look both laidback and stylish at the same time.

My weekend

As far as I have planned, my weekend will consist of the things photographed above:
-The September issue of Harper's Bazaar and a small jar of Ben & Jerry's Cookie Dough - to be enjoyed on the beach
-tons of new fabrics for different sewing projects - probably better off used some place else than the beach...

Have a great weekend everyone!

Duck walk

I just noticed that there is a new store close to my house (I’m sure it hasn’t always been there but I can’t tell you exactly when it opened either…), Mandarina Duck, which is a brand I've heard about before (I even have one of their perfumes) but I've never seen a Mandarina Duck store before and even though I own a lot of bags, I don't have anything from this particular brand.

And the first time I see it, it has a sale! It must be a sign that I am meant to check it out, don’t you think?

the coldest story ever told

I'm absolutely loving Hermès Fall 2009 campaign. The photos were shot in one of the coolest (literally!) places I know of, the Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden.

And they are fantastic! How can you not look forward to winter when you look at these pictures?

Virtual catwalk: Best of Scandinavia

It's time to show off the best dressed ladies of Scandinavian descent again.

Aren't Ellen, Lintu, Tessi and Korundi lovely in these outfits?

Strategic

I'm really happy about the fact that Nina Garcia's third book is coming out soon.

I loved her first two books: The Little Black Book of Style and The One Hundred (which I am actually re-reading as we speak!) and the illustrations in them, and I am sure the third one will be just as inspiring as well.

I put some new shoes on

So, M*A*C didn't work out that well for me today. The selection was kind of boring, nothing too exciting was to be found (I guess that's what happens when you get your hopes up in advance?).

I did manage to comfort myself by getting a new pair of shoes though. I thought these flipflops would look great with a little dress I have, when I go have dinner on the beach (and that happens more often than you'd think!) and don't want to wear Havaianas for a change.
Let's call them the dressier version of Havaianas...

Kiss and Make Up

After work today I have a "shopping date". What I'm looking forward to the most is actually not seeing what the sales have to offer (I haven't been shopping the sales at all this year. I haven't had time, and to be honest, sales kind of freak me out too).

Instead, I'm dying to go to M*A*C.

I'm a total M*A*C junkie and I could easily see myself spending way too much there if I could somehow justify spending like half a salary on make up...
I love the fact that they have tons of new products and limited edition stuff too, I feel like I never know what's waiting for me when I set foot into one of their stores (I don't go that often, mostly because I don't live close to a M*A*C store, but I do work close to one!).

On the other hand, the whole limited edition thing can be kind of heartbreaking too.
Like when you only have one M*A*C Hello Kitty limited edition lipgloss (a present from my amazing sister! But not the color shown on the pic...) that you ended up really loving and using all the time, and you can't replace it because they just don't sell them any more... anywhere!

Oh well, maybe I'll find a new M*A*C favourite today instead! Keep your fingers crossed and have a fabulous evening!

Zip it up

I'm loving the zipper detail on this Marc Jacobs duchesse dress.
In fact, zippers in unexpected places has become one of my favourite details lately.

Weekenders on our own

This weekend hasn't been very inspiring. However, it has been very enjoyable and relaxing. And sometimes that's exactly what you need.
Like looking at this sunset while eating some amazing seafood on the beach. What better way is there to recharge your batteries before a new workweek?

Virtual catwalk: Best of Scandinavia

Scandinavian bloggers sure know how to dress. I'm sure a lot of people who read fashion blogs are already aware of this since several Scandinavian bloggers have "made it big" outside of Scandinavia too.

However, I think Scandinavia has tons of other well dressed bloggers to offer as well.

So here's my pick for the best dressed Scandinavian bloggers this week:

Dare to be different

I'm loving this Lulu Guinness (one of my all time fave designers, as a matter of fact!) bangle.
Great message, cute font, gorgeous colour... Lulu can do no wrong.

Somewhere more familiar

During the summer, comfort is everything. If I had to chose between comfort and beauty during these sweltering, sticky summer months, I'm afraid I'd make the "wrong' choice.

Thanks to Luella (skirt) and Marc Jacobs (dress) and others who use great materials, such as jersey etc. it's not really necessary to make that choice though. You can be both comfortable and look pretty at the same time.

However, there certainly is a huge gap in the market for super comfortable, yet stylish clothes. Preferably made out of jersey!

Back to Black

Lace, black, white, visible collarbones, the combination of black and white. Always inspirational, always classy.
