Arm Candy

I love this new Alexander McQueen bag (he calls it Faithful, by the way, which I think is a really sweet name for a bag!). It's just so simple, yet special. You could use it every day, yet still have something that really stands out.

I actually don't know anything about McQueen bags, since I don't own one myself (all I have so far is some of his gorgeous scarves), but this bag really looks like it's longing to belong to my bag collection...

The French way

One of my favourite (if not the THE favourite) brand for basics is Petit Bateau, a French brand that actually makes clothes for babies, but they do have a small range of women's clothing too.

The reason I love Petit Bateau is how soft the cotton their basic tanks, tees and undies are made of. And unlike most pieces, these actually get softer and nicer the more you wear them! I love that!

Unfortunately I don't live close to a Petit Bateau shop, so I buy these basics online every once in a while.

If there's anyone out there that hasn't tried Petit Bateau yet, try to at least get to try one of their pieces on, you'll never regret it! Sometimes it actually makes sense to spend a tiny bit more on pieces (even basics!) if you know that you can keep them for that much longer...

Today I'm loving...

I have loved Lulu Guinness and her fun, quirky bags and accessories for a long, long time. So of course I think this new clutch is really cute too!

(I know these bags are not for everyone, but they really make me smile and feel a bit more cheerful whenever I see them...)

Another maxi dress

The move is going well so far, half of the stuff is done, but some important things (such as moving all the small pieces and bits besides the furniture) are still to be done (movers are coming to take care of that tomorrow though!)...

So I thought I deserved a break. I spent it drooling over pretty things I plan to get for the new place, and over this dress from the Alice by Alice Temperley diffusion line. I think this would look great with a big floppy hat and some cool bangles!

Moving on up, moving on out

I'm moving at the moment, so I won't be blogging that much in the coming days. That said, I'm absolutely thrilled since I am moving to a wonderful apartment with tons of storage (not a walk in closet... yet! But still so much better than what I have now).

Moving is fun, but throwing out old junk and decorating is even more fun, so I think I'm really going to enjoy the coming days...

I wish I was a Macbook user...

I love creative ideas, and I love reading. So it really bums me out that this amazing Macbook case doesn't suit my brand new laptop.

Otherwise I would be getting this right away, it's just so adorable!

Today I'm loving...

... this Calvin Klein maxi dress from his Pre-Fall 2010 line. (Yes, I realize that all this maxi dress talk might be getting boring!)

I've been a huge Calvin Klein fan for years, as I love his minimalistic approach to fashion (even though I don't own nearly as many CK-pieces as I would like, but I am working on it!) so I shouldn't really be surprised that he manages to create a great version of the coming maxi dress trend as well.

I absolutely love this dress and would probably live in it if it was mine (which it isn't... yet anyway. I don't think you can even buy it yet...)!

Today I wish I was wearing...

This gorgeous dress from the Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2010 line. I just love all the lace, and how the dress manages to look both classy, expensive yet somewhat casual at the same time...

Today I'm loving...

... the fact that so many stores are starting to sell maxi dresses. I've mentioned my longing for cool maxi dresses to wear both during the winter and the summer before, but I've had trouble finding anything. So it's great that the stores are finally bringing these dresses in, I think they'll be real staples in my wardrobe for a while now...

Bury the hatchet

Have you guys seen the February issue of Russian Vogue?

I absolutely love it, and Magdalena Frackowiak (one of my favourite current models, she's gorgeous!) looks amazing!

Today I'm loving...

The Vivienne Westwood bag I blogged about earlier arrived today, and it's really cute.

Maybe that's why I'm in the mood for some more of Westwood's creations? Isn't this dress just lovely? The shape, the color, the material... everything!

I need your help..

I really need to get some cute shoe bags (for travelling, I don't store my shoes in bags at home, even if I know that some people do...), but I can't seem to find the perfect bags... I need something cute, yet affordable (because I always, always travel with several pairs of shoes!) and preferably in a material that can be thrown into the washing machine.

So if any of you guys know of good shoe bags, let me know!

Now... off to bed!

Plans for today

Today I am going to take a walk in the park with my bf and little puppy, eat a huge breakfast in a nice coffee shop and catch up on my reading.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Looking forward to this

I just read that Luella Bartley, one of my all time favourite designers, is working on a style book.

For now, she's calling it Luella's Guide to English Style, and since I love Luella, as well as style books, I can't wait for it to come out! (that would be around fashion week in September... That's Luella's goal anyway...)

Green IS the new black!

I splurged on some magazines and a great new book this weekend. Tamsin Blanchard's "Green is the new black" is really informative, yet fun at the same time and a real pleasure to read in every way. Not to mention that Tamsin is really inspirational!

So if you are into both fashion and environmental issues, this book is a must! (I read my copy in 3 days!)

I don't care what they say...

I've heard that a lot of people don't exactly love the latest Hermes campaign, but I like it.

The bright colors make it fun and summery, and that's something I apprechiate in any campaign.

Ouch!

I love this Lanvin Double-breasted jacket, it's really cool and it would go with so many things in my closet...

But 1815 GBP for a jacket? That's just crazy, I'm sorry!

Happy Friday everyone!!

Other new Ebay buys, part 2

I am not a fan of plastic bags for environmental reasons, and I actually have some cotton carrier bags already. (My favourite one is a Marc Jacobs one!)
But I really liked this Vivienne Westwood one when I saw it on Ebay, so I had to get another one...

Shopping is always more fun if you have something pink with you! Even if it is just a carrier bag...

(and of course I had to get the matching Michael Kors sweater just in case I would get cold on the way to the supermarket...)

(both pics are from Ebay)

Other new Ebay buys, part 1

So, I told you about the Hello Kitty footwarmer I bought on Ebay before the holidays.
As it turns out, it didn't end up being the only thing I've bought on Ebay lately, so I thought I'd show off some of the other stuff as well.

First off.. meet my new dress, it's by Michael Kors, and I originally got it in purple, but I liked it so much I had to get it in black too. It's perfect for work and for laid back activities in the weekend!

The harvest of the holidays

This blog has been awfully quiet for too long, but honestly, I haven't had much time to sit in front of the computer during the holidays. But I thought I should at least present some of the things that are new in my household after the holidays.

So... without further ado: meet my new pink (!) laptop and two pairs of Rocket Dog shoes. I used to have those shoes in black and wore them all the time until they fell apart, so I was really hoping to get another black pair, but they're apparently all sold out. But silver and purple are nice colors too, so I'm not complaining!
