Online store I am loving right now: Next

Another online store, that I was actually not so familiar with, that I recently discovered delivers worldwide FOR FREE is the amazing Next.co.uk. Since I discovered that, I have been getting quite a few things from there, so I was pretty surprised now that I noticed that I haven't blogged about almost any of them, with the exception of my Adidas Black Orchid set, that I also got on Next.

Some of the other things I got lately are:
A Paris themed sweater. Not really so surprising, considering what a huge Paris fan I am...

This black and white pajama...
as well as a matching robe (sooo soft! I really love this robe, let me tell you!)
and the matching slippers.
I also got a similar pajama in grey...
again with the matching robe...
and the matching slippers!
(You know how I love matching sets, even if only me and my family are the only ones to see these particular sets. So I just couldn't resist getting the whole set each time...)

(on top of all this, I also got tons and tons of stuff for my son, Next is even better for kids than it is for adults, so if you happen to have kids, I totally recommend checking Next.co.uk out!)

And I still have quite a long "to get" list left! (Living outside the European Union, I can't order everything I want in one go, sadly, as that would mean paying a lot of tax whenever the stuff gets here, so I have to order a few pieces at a time)

Shopped: Sweaters at La Redoute

When I lived in my native Sweden, I used to shop at La Redoute, a French mail order company, quite often. I am a big fan of the French and their sense of fashion, so I actually really missed being able to shop at La Redoute after I moved away from Sweden. This is why I was thrilled to see that La Redoute actually do ship to the country where I now live these days (I am pretty sure this did not use to be the case), so of course I had to order something immediately after noticing this.

I settled on some sweaters, having noticed recently that I simply do not have enough pretty ones, so I really needed a couple of new ones anyway. I liked what La Redoute themselves call a fisherman sweater, in grey and navy blue, so I got that.

I think this will look great with blue jeans!

I am also a big fan of owls, and my sister in law actually has the cutest owl sweater, that I would love to get as well, but by the time I discovered that I wanted her sweater, it was long sold out, so that is just not going to happen. That is why it was great to see a cute owl sweater over at La Redoute too:

They have this sweater in both black and ivory, but I decided to start by getting the black one. If that one is nice, I might get the ivory one too.

My new maxi dress

At the moment, I am desperately trying to catch up with the Black Friday deals that are still running (there are quite a few place where you can still get good deals, during the entire weekend), so I think I will have some finds to post soon. Meanwhile, Modcloth has pretty nice discounts on a lot of nice stuff, so I just got this maxi dress (you all know how I love my maxis, right?) in forest green over there:

This color just speaks to me, and the shape looks flattering too, so it was really a must have, for under $27 and all!

A trend I am really loving right now

(although I actually think it is something pretty timeless, and less of a trend)

... is all the polka dots you see everywhere right now. Without even thinking too much about how many polka dot items you can find these days, I managed to buy two different pieces not very far apart.

One sweater that pretty much looks like these:

And one tank top that looks like this:
(I didn't actually buy the items on these two sites, but the stores I did buy them in don't have websites and I didn't have a chance to take pics of them yet... and they are currently both in the laundry...)

I am also really in the mood to get some more polka dot pieces, like maybe a pair of polka dot leggings?
Or why not a polka dog bag? That could be pretty nice as well!

As long as one does not wear all the polka dot items together, I think there is no harm in owning a few of them.

The saddest news today...

... for any fashion lover, at least (I am by no means trivializing what is going on at the moment in Syria, Iraq, Western Africa and other very troubled spots, where the suffering is no doubt immense, not only today, but for a long time now), has to be the news that Oscar de la Renta, one of the true gentlemen of modern fashion has passed away.
My admiration for this amazing designer is well documented in this blog, in fact, even my last post was about his latest collection (read it here, or just scroll down a bit), and I am sure many others feel the same, so mr de la Renta and the magic he created over the years will be sorely missed, not only by me and those close to him, but also by the entire industry he worked in.
R.I.P Oscar, the world of fashion will not be the same without you, just like it turned a bit more boring and mainstream when another one of my favorite designers, Alexander McQueen, passed away. You truly made women look like ladies and had an eye for details like no other. We will always remember you.

My favorite Spring 2015 collection so far...

(I haven't had a chance to look through all the collections yet, you see, just the ones I usually like, and so thought I would like this time around too)

... is definitely Oscar de la Renta's.
The color combination in this outfit is just gorgeous!

The collection is also full of really gorgeous jackets:

And the hemlines are often both pretty and unusual:

A really nice and feminine collection, in other words! I have not managed to find another, better one for Spring 2015 yet!

My new workout clothes

After a pregnancy, work outs become a priority, almost automatically, since you naturally want to get into shape. I have always been more motivated to work out if I have cute workout outfits, so I have decided to invest in some new clothing, specifically for workouts. And I was pleasantly surprised when I started looking for them, because the workout clothes you can find these days are really cute! One example of this is Adidas' Black Orchid line. I love the print on these clothes, so I ended up ordering both the jackets and the leggings from this line, and I am actually really looking forward to getting these pieces!

Today I'm loving...

... this gorgeous Collette by Collette Dinnigan dress for sale over at Net-a-Porter right now.
This brand is completely new to me, but I love this dress, the pattern, the length of it, the colors... well, pretty much everything about it! So I definitely think I need to do some research on this brand!

A great look for the coming fall

That I personally absolutely love, is all grey outfits.
I've never really been very into grey, even if I do have some pieces of course, it just seemed a bit too mousey for my taste, but lately I have really started liking it. And I love the idea of having one color all over, with different textures and shades to make it interesting.
So I will definitely be stocking up on some grey pieces in order to try this look this fall soon!

Sweet husbands are made of these...

... presents from Furla (a wallet, if you must know), as well as a lemon marengue pie from my favorite bakery. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Starting to shop for post-pregnancy

As I've mentioned on the blog before, I am currently pregnant, but I don't have long to go now, which means that I have already started shopping a bit for what I will wear after the baby arrives. I definitely do not intend to wear maternity clothes after the baby is here (which would be a bit of an issue even if I did, since I have not bought a lot of maternity clothing anyway), but I do think I will want to be comfortable, so I started with picking up some pants that look comfy at the ASOS sale, which is on now.

Nothing's more comfy than leggings, of course. So I HAD to get 2 pairs of those, in different colors.

And these glammed up joggers are perfect for all the exercise I intend to be doing.

(I love the colors too!)

All these items, with the exception of the black leggings are currently on sale over at ASOS, so if you see something you like, you can get these items at discounted prices there now.

Next step will be to find some comfy, yet cute tops...

Today I'm loving...

... this kimono style jacket from Fendi's Resort 2015 collection.
It looks both chic and comfortable and cool, not a very usual combination, I would say.

Today I'm loving...

... this dress from the Alice + Olivia Resort 2015 collection:
I just find it both fun, quirky and original and would have wished that Alice + Olivia would have made more similar pieces for this collection, I think it would have made it more unique actually!

Today I'm loving...

... these Missoni wide leg crochet pants:

I used to be the girl that only wore skinny pants and skinny jeans, but since I got pregnant, I discovered just how comfy other types of pants actually are (yes, I had actually forgotten that!), so I definitely think I will be wearing some wider pants after the baby is here as well. There is something to be said for comfort, after all!

Today I'm loving...

Joanne Froggatt's gorgeous gown (I love her on Downton Abbey, by they way!) that she wore to the Monte Carlo Television Festival in Monaco recently. How pretty is that?

Today I'm loving...

... this gorgeous silk maxi skirt by Emilio Pucci.
Just gorgeous!

I so wish it was in my price range (but it's not, as I've just bought a house that needs furniture, some fixes and a lot of stuff that cost money), and that I wasn't pregnant (but I am, as anyone that sees me is surely fully aware of) so I could pull this skirt off at the moment...

Today I'm loving...

... Marion Cotillard's Lady Dior Spring 2014 ads, mostly due to the pleated silver pieces of clothing she is wearing in them.
These pics really reminded me of how much I love pleated silver clothing, I have quite a few nice pieces like these (mostly tops, like this one;

I think, but also at least one dress), because this was a trend let's say around 7 or 8 years ago as well, and I remember  H&M made quite a few pleated silver pieces back then. If I wasn't super heavily pregnant I would totally be wearing those right now, after having seen how awesome Marion Cotillard looks in pleated silver!

What my Friday has looked like so far

I went shopping in a newly renovated, yet historic area, that has just turned into an outdoor shopping mall.
I dined at a restaurant with a very cool concept: they give you a picnic bag, filled with goodies, that you can eat on the grass outside the restaurant (yes, a blanket to sit on is included of course!).
I also had a mani pedi (OPI's Bubble Bath was my color of choice today), but forgot to photograph that, and I still have several things planned for the day.

I must say I am pretty happy with my Friday so far! I hope everyone else is having a great Friday as well, and an amazing weekend to come!

Greetings from Athens

Traveling is always fun, especially when you visit places and countries you've never been to before. Athens, the capital of Greece, known mostly for it's famed Acropolis, sometimes called the cradle of civilization, is a great example of a city I did not really know what to expect of, but that turned out to be a very nice surprise indeed!

The food and the coffee (I absolutely love the traditional cold frappe!) is exceptional, and the shopping really isn't half bad either!
