The saddest news today...

... for any fashion lover, at least (I am by no means trivializing what is going on at the moment in Syria, Iraq, Western Africa and other very troubled spots, where the suffering is no doubt immense, not only today, but for a long time now), has to be the news that Oscar de la Renta, one of the true gentlemen of modern fashion has passed away.
My admiration for this amazing designer is well documented in this blog, in fact, even my last post was about his latest collection (read it here, or just scroll down a bit), and I am sure many others feel the same, so mr de la Renta and the magic he created over the years will be sorely missed, not only by me and those close to him, but also by the entire industry he worked in.
R.I.P Oscar, the world of fashion will not be the same without you, just like it turned a bit more boring and mainstream when another one of my favorite designers, Alexander McQueen, passed away. You truly made women look like ladies and had an eye for details like no other. We will always remember you.

My favorite Spring 2015 collection so far...

(I haven't had a chance to look through all the collections yet, you see, just the ones I usually like, and so thought I would like this time around too)

... is definitely Oscar de la Renta's.
The color combination in this outfit is just gorgeous!

The collection is also full of really gorgeous jackets:

And the hemlines are often both pretty and unusual:

A really nice and feminine collection, in other words! I have not managed to find another, better one for Spring 2015 yet!
